GOD SPEAKS IN SIMPLE WAYS

Doing another Beth Moore Bible study and thinking back to a troubled time. Rummaged though my old poems to find this. (Actually could have, but am organized with Microsoft access index of my poetry) This was not about the poem, but the help.

GOD SPEAKS IN SIMPLE WAYS

In the late evening I prayed;
Tears streaming down my face.
How can I endure?
Of what value am I?
Tell me what your will is Lord.
Why won't you answer me?
Immersed in my doubts and fear
Wondering how to endure.
Suddenly my child appears,
Quietly taps my arm.
I brush away my tears.
Gathering strength from some unknown reserve
I carry my child back to bed.
He asks about God and we talk
Of all the good things he has given us.
As I return to my room
A sense of calm ensues,
I realize God is my resource.
My energy and control gifts from Him.
He was listening after all.
