Shooting Star

Carpe Diem Seven Days to Christmas # 4  Shooting Star

under sleeping bag
huddled on sidewalk
Geminid Shower

brilliant streak
momentary glory
igniting our hope

sizzling flash
lights the night
carrying my wish

  1. Nice collection. The idea of homelessness particularly in the cold weather is just so awful. Every one deserves a roof over their head.I like the shooting star ones the one best.

    1. Hadn't thought of the homeless. I was just recollecting a night we woke the children and watched a December meteor shower.. Yes everyone deserves a roof.

  2. Builds up to the great grand finale. Interesting fist haiku....there's a lot one can say about that one...

  3. What a wonderful series -- I can imagine that glimmer of hope in the homeless family -- the wishes rising into the sky to greet the shooting star -- Very nicely done. :)

    1. Until the comments, I just thought of them as individual haiku. Now when I read over I am greeted with a series that was a happy accident.

May be the last lines should read:
      sizzling flash
      lights the night
      carrying wishes
